We will be heading to Krape Park in Freeport Illinois for this years Photo Safari ride and brunch!
Here are the details:
Meet 7:30– 7:45 am Saturday October 7th in the east parking lot at the old Heritage Harley Dealership.
- Safety Pre-Ride Brief at 7:50am
- KSU at 8am
- * Fill up prior to arriving please. No bathrooms available.
- We will make a comfort stop at the BP in Shabbona about an hour and 15 out.
** For those who would rather "meet up" with us in Shabbona versus heading to Lisle to start, the address of the BP is 515 E. Comanche Ave Shabbona IL.
** Please plan on being at the BP around 9:15am and PLEASE LET ME KNOW if you are planning on meeting up there versus in Lisle. Thanks!
- When we arrive at Krape Park we will stage in a parking lot (details during safety brief). Since the road to the waterfall is narrow, one way only and shared with other vehicle traffic, the plan will be that once I’m set up with my camera at the waterfall, participating riders will come through one at a time.
- I will shoot a series of photos of each participant in an effort to “keep the line moving”. I found this to be necessary since this road is the only route to upper picnic areas.
- From the waterfall, proceed back around (follow the signs) to a second staging parking lot to meet up and once someone has taken my pic (looking for any member who has pro DSLR experience that would like
to volunteer…) we will proceed to the restaurant.
- Riverside Family 7 Restaurant 1669 Willard Dr. Freeport Illinois 61032 : 815-232-7787
•• Important! The restaurant would appreciate 2 -3 days notice regarding a head count to set up our area, so if you’re planning on going, please either respond to the Event, or message/text me by Wednesday night, October 4th. Thanks.
The ride home is open so please give it some thought ahead of time should you choose not to ride home with me. (There is gas located along Route 20 approaching Rockford) as well as routes to take along the Rock River should you choose. I figured so many of us live in different parts of the area the option to ride independently would be a viable one.
Hoping for nice weather!
Open Event: This event is open to Chapter members, National H.O.G. members and other guests as desired. All riders and passengers must sign a release.
